Courses
This course will look at the evolution of the English garden from the Norman conquest of 1066 to the present day and at the people and ideas which have influenced that evolution, from monastic and castle gardens to everyone's garden in a democratic age.
In this course we look briefly at the evolution of the Arts and Crafts movement, and then in more detail the extension of its philosophy and practices into the garden, especially the work of Gertrude Jekyll and William Robinson.
