Gain an Oxford qualification
Award-bearing programmes
The Department offers a number of part-time undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications and all are designed for the specific needs of adult learners.
Undergraduate award courses
These part-time Oxford University undergraduate programmes (certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas) are equivalent to, or taught at, first, second and third-year undergraduate level.
All are designed with flexibility in mind, since many of our students study alongside work and family commitments. Some meet weekly in Oxford, others are taught through blended learning, and two of our advanced diplomas are taught entirely online.
Some subjects offer the chance to progress to a higher level of study.
Many of our short courses, including flexible online courses, weekly classes (both in Oxford and online) and some summer schools, can be studied for credit, which means they can count towards a recognised qualification such as our Undergraduate Certificate of Higher Education.
Postgraduate awards and degrees
More than 35 part-time postgraduate certificates and diplomas, master's degrees (MSt's and MSc's) and DPhils are available. Programme formats and delivery vary, but most are taught as a blend of short residencies in Oxford with online components.
Individual modules from many of our postgraduate programmes can be studied as standalone short courses, with the option to take them for credit.
