Jan Woudstra
Dr Jan Woudstra is a landscape architect and historian. He first studied new towns Emmen and Nagele in The Netherlands. In private practice in the late 1980s he worked on various new towns, including Milton Keynes and Stevenage and has retained an interest in them ever since. He teaches at the School of Architecture and Landscape at the University of Sheffield and has published widely. Some of his latest books include The Politics of Street Trees (2022, with Camilla Allen) and Teaching Landscape History (2024, with David Jacques).

An exploration of the themes, styles and challenges of public and private British gardens over the course of the 20th century. A study weekend in Oxford in partnership with the Gardens Trust and the 20th Century Society.
