Magnus Smarason
Magnús Smárason is an AI researcher and digital innovator from Iceland with a multidisciplinary background. His professional journey spans over 16 years in emergency services as a firefighter and paramedic, complemented by a B.A. in Law from the University of Akureyri. In 2022, Magnús redirected his focus to artificial intelligence, driven by its transformative potential for society.
To deepen his understanding of AI, Magnús enrolled in the University of Oxford's Continuing Education program in Low-Code Data Science in 2023. Since then, he has engaged in various practical AI projects, including developing an interactive map application and a court case analysis tool using GPT-4o. He has authored articles on the rapidly evolving technology for a local news agency, delivered lectures, and given talks to diverse groups.
