Mariachiara Leteo
Mariachiara has done her DPhil in English at Oxford with a comparative literature project focused on English and Italian modernism. During her DPhil, she has been an active member of the Oxford Comparative Criticism and Translation research centre, which she still follows, and whose lively discussion group she ran for two years. She currently gives tutorials in English and comparative literature at Oxford while she prepares her first monograph, Poetic Effects in Prose: Virginia Woolf and Emilio Cecchi.
Courses
This course will take you to Virginia Woolf's writing desk to look at the challenges of writing a novel from her perspective. Guided by her theory of fiction, we will gain insight into her unique voice in Jacob's Room, Mrs Dalloway and To the Lighthouse.
