Anna Cusack
Anna completed her PhD in 2021 at Birkbeck, University of London, prior to this she undertook an MPhil in early modern history at the University of Cambridge and a BA (Hons) also at Birkbeck.
She has taught at the University of Essex and Birkbeck and has a background in heritage management.
Courses
Examine the concept and perception of ‘fun’ between 1550-1750. Explore food and drink, sport, games and festivals, alongside music and dance. The week includes a strong interactive element and will incorporate a sensory experience for students.
Early modern London was viewed as a hotbed of crime & vice, society was thought to be constantly on the verge of crisis. Visitors and locals frequently encountered crime & punishment. This course examines these encounters and the responses they elicited.
