Biography

Dr Suman Chowdhury, MA, MSc, DPhil (Oxon) DIC, MSc (Imp) FGS FRAS MIoD, gained his Doctorate in Geophysics from the University of Oxford and has since developed a broad range of expertise in the earth and space sciences. His field experience includes the geophysical survey of the Chicxulub asteroid impact crater in Mexico. He has lived and worked globally, in England, Scotland, India, the Netherlands, the United States and Egypt. He is also connected to a fifth continent, having served on the governmental British Antarctic Place Names Committee. Dr Chowdhury is a Fellow of the Geological Society and the Royal Astronomical Society, and a member of the International Astronomical Union and the Institute of Directors.
