New Oxford University Visiting Fellowships in Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning launched

The Oxford University Department for Continuing Education is looking to appoint Visiting Fellows working in the fields of continuing education or lifelong learning for one or two terms. Contributions during the period of the Fellowship could include, but is not limited to, collaborating with colleagues on pedagogic research, giving a lecture or series of lectures, or attending and leading seminars in the Department.
Visiting Fellowships are aimed at individuals who are in a position to take advantage of the academic opportunities provided by the Department and Oxford University, and who can add something distinctive to our rich academic environment.
It is also our hope and expectation that the Visiting Fellow will, where appropriate, support the development of mutually beneficial partnerships with their home institution.
We are interested in applications from a broad range of subjects or fields. If there is a cross-disciplinary element to the Visiting Fellow’s work, the Department will seek out opportunities to support engagement with others across the University.
We would expect the Visiting Fellow to deliver one or more lectures on their research and/or practice at the Department’s Lifelong Learning Research Forum, which we will soon be launching. We would also expect them to facilitate a workshop or seminar on a topic of their choice within the broad field of lifelong learning pedagogies and student experience.
There is no stipend for this post, but Visiting Fellows will be entitled to free accommodation and breakfast at the Department in central Oxford for the duration of their stay. In some cases, we may be able to assist with the cost of travel to and from Oxford – please enquire upon application.
The deadlines to apply for Visiting Fellowships in the 2023-24 academic year are 31 May 2023 for September/October 2023 and January 2024 starts, and 30 September 2023 for April 2024 starts.
