Meet our students
The part-time Diploma in Creative Writing attracts enthusiastic active writers from across the globe who are looking to explore and develop their craft.
While some of our students may have previous experience of literary study, this is not essential and formal qualications aren't needed.
There are two ways to study:
- Mostly online: taught online with a two-week summer school in Oxford.
- In-person: takes place on weekends in Oxford with a seven-day summer school in Oxford.
Both pathways offer a rich combination of one-to-one tutorials and group discussions.

After completing two short online courses in creative writing, Sarah applied for the Diploma in Creative Writing so she could fine-tune her ideas. During the Diploma she was taken on by an agent and has since published her first novel.

Matthew had always enjoyed writing but focused on his career in banking, alongside a parallel career in the Army Reserve, until he completed a short online course in fiction writing. He then enrolled on the Diploma in Creative Writing.
